Here’s a song by Leonard Cohen. It’s another of my favourites, and contains my favourite lyric of all time:
Waiting for the miracle, there’s nothing left to do. I haven’t been this happy since the end of World War II.
Leonard Cohen has a reputation for being dreary and dull, but he’s a great lyricist and I think there’s a lot of sarcasm and dry wit in his music. This song featured in the Natural Born Killers soundtrack, along with a couple of others, all highly recommended.
